Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 1. Représentations unitaires

Let G be a topological group and let ϱ\varrho be a semisimple unitary representation of G in a complex Hilbert space E. Every subrepresentation of ϱ(\varrho (resp. every quotient representation of ϱ)\varrho ) is semisimple.

If ϱ1\varrho_1 is a subrepresentation of ϱ\varrho, then every nonzero subrepresentation of ϱ1\varrho_1 contains an irreducible subrepresentation (Prop. 7), hence ϱ1\varrho_1 is semisimple (loc. cit.).

By Prop. 3 of V, p. 383, every quotient representation of ϱ\varrho is isomorphic to a subrepresentation of ϱ\varrho, hence is semisimple.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
