Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 1. Représentations unitaires

Let G be a topological group and ϱ\varrho a unitary representation of G in a complex Hilbert space E. The Hilbert sum of the π\pi-isotypical components of G for π∈G^\pi \in \widehat{G} is the greatest semisimple subrepresentation of ϱ\varrho.

In fact, the π\pi-isotypical components of G for π∈G^\pi \in \widehat{G} are pairwise orthogonal (prop. 8, a)), and each is semisimple (prop. 10, a)); hence the Hilbert sum F of the spaces Mπ(ϱ)M_{\pi}(\varrho ) for π∈G^\pi \in \widehat{G} defines a semisimple subrepresentation of ϱ\varrho. Since moreover every irreducible subrepresentation of ϱ\varrho is a subrepresentation of an isotypical component of ϱ\varrho, the corollary follows.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
