Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 2. Représentations des groupes localement compacts

Let ϱ\varrho be a unitary representation of H in a complex Hilbert space F and let u:π→ϱu:\pi \rightarrow \varrho be an H-morphism. For every function f∈Kπ‾f\in \mathscr{K}_{\overline{\pi}}(G), let v(f)v(f) denote the function g↦u(f(g))g\mapsto u(f(g)) from G into F; it belongs to Kϱ‾(G)\mathscr{K}_{\overline{\varrho}}(G) and satisfies Np(v(f))⩽∥u∥Np(f)N_p(v(f))\leqslant \|u\|N_p(f). The linear mapping from Kπ‾(G)\mathscr{K}_{\overline{\pi}}(G) into Kϱ‾(G)\mathscr{K}_{\overline{\varrho}}(G) which associates v(f)v(f) with ff therefore extends to a continuous H-morphism from IndHG(π)^G_H(\pi ) into IndHG(ϱ)^G_H(\varrho ) which is denoted by IndHG(u)^G_H(u). We have IndHG(1π)=1IndHG(π)^G_H(1_{\pi}) = 1_{Ind^G_H(\pi)}. Let σ\sigma be a unitary representation of H and let v:ϱ→σv:\varrho \rightarrow \sigma be an H-morphism; we have IndHG(v∘u)=^G_H(v\circ u) = IndHG(v)∘^G_H(v)\circ IndHG(u)^G_H(u).

In other words, the construction which associates IndHG(π)^G_H(\pi ) with π\pi and IndHG(u)^G_H(u) with uu is a functor from the category of unitary representations of H into that of unitary representations of G (cf. CAT, I, § 2, in preparation).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
