Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 2. Représentations des groupes localement compacts

Let π\pi be an irreducible unitary representation of G in a Hilbert space E which is square-integrable modulo the center. Let χ\chi be the restriction to Z of the central character of π\pi. For all xx and yy in E, one has fx,y∈Lχ2(G)f_{x,y}\in \mathscr{L}_{\chi}^2(G).

The function fx,yf_{x,y} is continuous, hence μ\mu-measurable. One has fx,y∈Fχ(G)f_{x,y}\in \mathscr{F}_{\chi}(G) by formula (9), p. 420. Moreover, by INT, VII, p. 64, § 2, No.o8^o8, cor. 1, c), one has N2(fx,y)<+∞N_2(f_{x,y})<+\infty since C/ZC/Z is compact and ∣fx,y∣∈L2(G/C)|f_{x,y}| \in \mathscr{L}^2(G/C). The assertion therefore follows from proposition 5 of V, p. 413.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
