Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 2. Représentations des groupes localement compacts

Let π\pi be an irreducible unitary representation of G in a Hilbert space E which is square-integrable modulo the center. Let χ\chi be the restriction to Z of the central character of π\pi.

There exist a real number c>0c >0 and a unique isometric (G×G)(G\times G)-morphism ww of the unitary representation π‾⊠π\overline{\pi}\boxtimes \pi into Lχ2(G)L^2_{\chi}(G) such that, for all (x,y)∈E‾×E(x, y)\in \overline{E}\times E, the element w(x⊗y)w(x\otimes y) is the class in Lχ2(G)L^2_{\chi}(G) of the function c1/2fx,yc^{1/2}f_{x,y}.

For all (x,y)∈E×E(x, y)\in E\times E, one has fx,y∈Lχ2(G)f_{x,y}\in \mathscr{L}_{\chi}^2(G) (lemma 9). Let vv denote the unique linear mapping of E‾⊗E\overline{E}\otimes E into Lχ2(G)L^2_{\chi}(G) such that v(x⊗y)v(x\otimes y) is the class of fx,yf_{x,y} for all (x,y)∈E×E(x, y)\in E\times E.

We shall prove below the following lemma.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
