Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 4. Représentations des groupes compacts

Let G be a compact topological group. The biregular representation ϱG\boldsymbol{\varrho }_G of G is the Hilbert sum of the subrepresentations ϱG(π)\boldsymbol{\varrho }_G(\pi ) for π∈G^\pi \in \widehat{G}.

The spaces ϱG(π)\boldsymbol{\varrho }_G(\pi ) are pairwise orthogonal; they are irreducible subrepresentations of the biregular representation of G (prop. 5) which are pairwise non-isomorphic (prop. 3 of V, p. 461). The theorem then results from the fact that the sum Θ(G) of the spaces ϱG(π)\boldsymbol{\varrho }_G(\pi ) for π\pi ranging over G^\widehat{G} is dense in L2(G)L^2(G) (prop. 4).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
