Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 4. Représentations des groupes compacts

If there exists an integer n⩾0n\geqslant 0 such that G is a compact subgroup of GL(Cn)\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}(\mathbf{C}^n), the identical representation of G in GL(Cn)\mathbf{G}\mathbf{L}(\mathbf{C}^n) suffices to separate the points of G, and one can therefore then prove proposition 4 directly, and then the Peter–Weyl theorem, without appealing to the Gelfand–Raikov theorem.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
