Théories spectrales, chapter V, § 4. Représentations des groupes compacts

The Fourier cotransform is an injective morphism of involutive Banach algebras of M1(G)\mathscr{M}^1(G) into Fb(G^)F_b(\widehat{G}) which maps L1(G)L^1(G) into F0(G^)F_0(\widehat{G}).

Since G is compact, the space C(G)\mathscr{C}(G) is included in and dense in L1(G)\mathscr{L}^1(G) and L2(G)\mathscr{L}^2(G).

Let ν∈M1(G)\nu \in \mathscr{M}^1(G) be such that F‾G(ν)=0\overline{\mathscr{F}}_G(\nu ) = 0. Then for every continuous function ff on G, one has F‾G(ν∗f)=0\overline{\mathscr{F}}_G(\nu *f) = 0. Now ν∗f\nu *f belongs to C(G)\mathscr{C}(G) (INT, VIII, p. 152, § 4, No.o2^o2, prop. 3). Since, by Theorem 2, the Fourier cotransform is injective on L2L^2(G), and a fortiori on the space C\mathscr{C} (G), one has ν∗f=0\nu *f= 0 for f∈C(G)f\in \mathscr{C}(G). In particular, it follows that

∫Gf(x)dν(x)=(ν∗fˇ)(e)=0 \int_Gf(x)d\nu (x) = (\nu *\check{f})(e) = 0

for every function f∈C(G)f\in \mathscr{C}(G) (INT, VIII, loc. cit.), hence the measure ν\nu is zero.

The image of C(G)\mathscr{C}(G) under the Fourier cotransform is contained in F2(G^)F^2(\widehat{G}), and a fortiori in F0(G^)F_0(\widehat{G}). Since F0(G^)F_0(\widehat{G}) is closed in Fb(G^)F_b(\widehat{G}) and C(G)\mathscr{C}(G) is dense in L1L^1(G), the image of L1(G)L^1(G) under the Fourier cotransform is likewise contained in F0(G^)F_0(\widehat{G}).

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
