Theory of Sets, chapter III, § 3. Equipotent sets. Cardinals

If (Eι)ι∈I(E_\iota)_{\iota \in I} is any family of sets, the cardinal of the union ⋃ι∈IEι\bigcup_{\iota \in I} E_\iota is at most equal to the sum ∑ι∈I\sum_{\iota \in I} Card (Eι)(E_\iota).

For there exists a mapping of the sum S of the Eι\mathrm{E}_\iota onto the union of the Eι\mathrm{E}_\iota (Chapter II, § 4, no. 8); the Corollary therefore follows from Propositions 3 and 4.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
