Theory of Sets, chapter III, § 5. Properties of integers

Let aa, bb, and b′b' be integers such that a>1a > 1 and b<b′b < b'; then ab<ab′a^b < a^{b'}.

For there exists an integer c>0c > 0 such that b′=b+cb' = b + c (Proposition 2); since c⩾1c \geqslant 1, we have ac⩾a>1a^c \geqslant a > 1, whence ab′=abac>aba^{b'} = a^b a^c > a^b.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
