Theory of Sets, chapter III, § 5. Properties of integers

Let nn be an integer. The product ∏i<n(i+1)\prod_{i < n} (i + 1) is denoted by n!n! (read "factorial nn").

We have 0!=10! = 1 (Chapter II, § 5, no. 3) and 1!=11! = 1. For each integer nn we have (n+1)!=n! (n+1)(n + 1)! = n!\,(n + 1). This relation, together with the relation 0!=10! = 1, characterizes the term n!n!, as is easily seen by induction on nn.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
