Theory of Sets, chapter III, § 5. Properties of integers

For each integer n>0n > 0, we have

∑i=1ni=12n(n+1).\sum_{i=1}^{n} i = \frac{1}{2} n(n+1).

In the set A of ordered pairs of integers (i,j)(i, j) such that 1⩽i⩽j⩽n1 \leqslant i \leqslant j \leqslant n, let AkA_k denote the subset of pairs (i,k)(i, k), where 1⩽i⩽k1 \leqslant i \leqslant k (for an arbitrary integer k⩽nk \leqslant n). Then AkA_k has kk elements. But (Ak)1⩽k⩽n(A_k)_{1 \leqslant k \leqslant n} is a partition of A; hence the result.

Bourbaki sets the proof directly after the statement, and the corpus does not separate them, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
