Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 3. Local rings. Passage from the local to the global

Let A be a ring. Every system of generators of the A-module AnA^n with n elements is a basis of AnA^n.

Let (ei)1≤i≤n(e_i)_{1 \leq i \leq n} be the canonical basis of A′′A'', (xi)1≤i≤n(x_i)_{1 \leq i \leq n} a system of generators of AnA^n with n elements and u:An→A′′u : A^n \to A'' the A-linear mapping such that u(ei)=xiu(e_i) = x_i for 1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n. By hypothesis uu is surjective and it is necessary to show that uu is injective. By virtue of Theorem 1 this can immediately be reduced to the case where A is a local ring; if mm is the maximal ideal of A, the elements 1⊗xi1 \otimes x_i (1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n) in (A/m)n(A/m)^n then form a system of generators of the free (A/m)(A/m)-module (A/m)n(A/m)^n; as A/mA/m is a field, this system is a basis of (A/m)n(A/m)^n; as AnA^n is a free A-module, we deduce from Proposition 5 that (xi)(x_i) is a basis of AnA^n.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
