Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 4. Spectra of rings and supports of modules

Let XX be a topological space and (Pi)1≤i≤n(P_i)_{1 \leq i \leq n} ajinite covering of XX consisting & irreducible closed sets. Then the irreducible components of XX are the maximal elements (with respect to inclusion) of the set of PiP_i.

We may restrict ourselves to the case where no two PiP_i are comparable. If EE is an irreducible subset of XX, then E⊂⋃i=1nPiE \subset \bigcup_{i=1}^n P_i, and hence EE is contained in one of the closed sets PiP_i; this proves that the PiP_i are the only maximal irreducible subsets of XX.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
