Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 4. Spectra of rings and supports of modules

Let aa be an ideal of AA; in the notation of no. 3, we have

V(a)=Supp⁡(A/a). V(a) = \operatorname{Supp}(A/a).
If pp is a prime of AA such that a∉pa \notin p, then (A/a)p=0(A/a)_p = 0 (§ 3, no. 1, Remark 3); if on the other hand a⊂pa \subset p, aApaA_p is contained in the maximal ideal pAppA_p of AA, and (A/a)p(A/a)_p is isomorphic to Ap/aApA_p/aA_p and hence is non-zero (§ 3, no. 1, Proposition 3); whence our assertion. In particular, Supp⁡(A)=Spec⁡(A)\operatorname{Supp}(A) = \operatorname{Spec}(A).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
