Commutative Algebra, chapter II, § 4. Spectra of rings and supports of modules

Let AA be a ring, MM a finitely generated AA-module and aa an element of AA. For aa to belong to every prime ideal of the support of MM, it is necessary and sufficient that the homothety of MM with ratio aa be nilpotent.

It follows from Proposition 17 that the intersection of the prime ideals belonging to Supp⁡(M)\operatorname{Supp}(M) is the radical of the annihilator aa of MM (no. 3, Proposition 11 (ii)). To say that aa belongs to this radical is equivalent to saying that there exist a power ak∈aa^k \in a and hence that akM=0a^k M = 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
