Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 1. Notion of an integral element

Let AA be a (commutative) KK-algebra and GG a locally finite group of operators on AA. Then AA is integral over the subalgebra AGA^G.

For all x∈Ax \in A, let xix_i (1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n) be the distinct elements of the orbit of xx under GG; for all σ∈G\sigma \in G, there exists a permutation πσ\pi_\sigma of the set {1,2,…,n}\{1, 2, \ldots, n\} such that σ.xi=xπσ(i)\sigma.x_i = x_{\pi_\sigma(i)} for 1≤i≤n1 \leq i \leq n; therefore the elementary symmetric functions of the xix_i are elements of AA which are invariant under GG, in other words elements of AGA^G. As xx is a root of the monic polynomial ∏i=1n(X−xi)\prod_{i=1}^n (X - x_i) and the coefficients of this polynomial belong to AGA^G, xx is integral over AGA^G.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
