Commutative Algebra, chapter V, § 2. The lift of prime ideals

Let AA be a ring and A′A' a ring containing AA and integral over AA. If R′\mathscr{R}' is the Jacobson radical of A′A', R′∩A\mathscr{R}' \cap A is the Jacobson radical of AA.

Let 3232 be the Jacobson radical of AA. For every maximal ideal m′m' of A′A', m′∩Am' \cap A is a maximal ideal of AA (Proposition 1), hence R⊂m′∩A\mathscr{R} \subset m' \cap A and therefore R⊂R′∩A\mathscr{R} \subset \mathscr{R}' \cap A (Algebra, Chapter VIII, § 5, no. 3, Definition 3). Conversely, let x∈32′∩Ax \in 32' \cap A; for every maximal ideal mm of AA, there exists a prime ideal of A′A' lying above mm (Theorem 1) and this ideal m′m' is necessarily maximal (Proposition 1), hence x∈m′∩A=mx \in m' \cap A = m and therefore x∈32x \in 32.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
