Commutative Algebra, chapter VI, § 8. Extensions of a valuation to an algebraic extension

Let G′G' be a totally ordered group, GG a subgroup of GG and G′\mathscr{G}' (resp. G\mathscr{G}) the set of isolated subgroups of G′G' (resp. GG). The mapping H′↦H′∩GH' \mapsto H' \cap G maps G′\mathscr{G}' onto G\mathscr{G}. This mapping is bijective if G′/GG'/G is a torsion group.

Clearly H′∈G′H' \in \mathscr{G}' implies H′∩G∈GH' \cap G \in \mathscr{G}. Now let H∈GH \in \mathscr{G}; let H′H' denote the set of x′∈G′x' \in G' such that there exists h∈Hh \in H satisfying −h≤x′≤h-h \leq x' \leq h; it is immediately verified that H′H' is an isolated subgroup of G′G'; then H′∩G=HH' \cap G = H since HH is isolated; hence the mapping H′↦H′∩GH' \mapsto H' \cap G is surjective. Suppose finally that G′/GG'/G is a torsion group; let H1′H'_1 and H2′H'_2 be two isolated subgroups of G′G' such that H1′∩G=H2′∩GH'_1 \cap G = H'_2 \cap G; then, for example, H1′⊃H2′H'_1 \supset H'_2 (cf. § 4, no. 4); then H1′/H2′H'_1/H'_2 is a totally ordered group and is isomorphic to a quotient group of H1′/(H1′∩G)H'_1/(H'_1 \cap G) which itself is identified with a subgroup of G′/GG'/G; hence H1′/H2′H'_1/H'_2 is a torsion group and therefore reduces to 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
