Commutative Algebra, chapter VI, § 10. Extensions of a valuation to a transcendental extension

Suppose that K′K' is a finitely generated extension of KK, that Γ\Gamma is isomorphic to Zh′\mathbf{Z}^{h'} (ordered lexicographically) and there is equality in formula (10). Then Γ′\Gamma' is isomorphic to Zh′\mathbf{Z}^{h'} (ordered lexicographically) and k′k' is a finitely generated extension of kk.

If there is equality in (10), there is equality in (9), whence the fact that k′k' is a finitely generated extension of kk and that Γ′′\Gamma'' is a finitely generated Z\mathbf{Z}-module. Further, comparing (9) and (10), it is seen that h′−h=r(Γ′/Γ)h' - h = r(\Gamma'/\Gamma), whence h′=r(Γ′)h' = r(\Gamma') and Proposition 4 (no. 2) then shows that Γ′\Gamma' is isomorphic to Zh′\mathbf{Z}^{h'} ordered lexicographically.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
