Algebra, chapter II, § 1. Modules

If AA is a finitely generated left BB-module and EE a finitely generated left AA-module, ρ∗(E)\rho_*(E) is a finitely generated left AA-module.

Let CC be a third ring, ρ′:C→B\rho' : C \to B a ring homomorphism and ρ′′=ρ∘ρ′\rho'' = \rho \circ \rho' the composite homomorphism. It follows immediately from the definitions that ρ∗′′(E)=ρ∗′(ρ∗(E))\rho''_*(E) = \rho'_*(\rho_*(E)) for every AA-module EE. In particular, if ρ\rho is an isomorphism of BB onto AA, then E=ρ∗′(ρ∗(E))E = \rho'_*(\rho_*(E)), where ρ′\rho' denotes the inverse isomorphism of ρ\rho.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
