Algebra, chapter II, § 2. Modules of linear mappings. Duality

For every ring A, the mapping which associates with every ξ∈A\xi \in A the linear form η↦ηξ\eta \mapsto \eta \xi on AsA_s is an isomorphism of AdA_d onto the dual of AsA_s.

It is the particular case of the canonical isomorphism E→HomA(As,E)E \to \mathrm{Hom}_A(A_s, E) of § 1, no. 14, Remark 2, corresponding to E=AsE = A_s; the commutativity of diagram (50) of § 1, no. 14, shows that we have here an isomorphism of right A-modules.

If AdA_d is identified with the dual of AsA_s by means of the isomorphism of Proposition 5, the canonical bilinear form on As×AdA_s \times A_d is then expressed by

⟨ξ,ξ∗⟩=ξξ∗for ξ,ξ∗ in A. \langle \xi, \xi^* \rangle = \xi \xi^* \quad \text{for } \xi, \xi^* \text{ in } A.

Similarly, the dual of AdA_d is canonically identified with AsA_s, the canonical bilinear form on Ad×AsA_d \times A_s being expressed by

⟨ξ∗,ξ⟩=ξ∗ξfor ξ,ξ∗ in A. \langle \xi^*, \xi \rangle = \xi^* \xi \quad \text{for } \xi, \xi^* \text{ in } A.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
