Algebra, chapter II, § 3. Tensor products

(1) The above remarks concerning the case of modules over a commutative ring generalize as in no. 5, Remark 2 when there is a tensor product E1⊗A1E2⊗⋯⊗An−1EnE_1 \otimes_{A_1} E_2 \otimes \cdots \otimes_{A_{n-1}} E_n where the rings AiA_i are not necessarily commutative and where, for each ii, there is a homomorphism ρi:C→A\rho_i : C \to A of the same commutative ring CC such that: (1) ρi(C)\rho_i(C) is contained in the centre of AiA_i; (2) for 2≤i≤n−12 \leq i \leq n - 1, the CC-module structures on EiE_i obtained using the homomorphisms ρi−1\rho_{i-1} and ρi\rho_i coincide. Then a CC-*module* structure is obtained on E1⊗A1E2⊗⋯⊗An−1EnE_1 \otimes_{A_1} E_2 \otimes \cdots \otimes_{A_{n-1}} E_n and canonical mappings analogous to (13) (no. 5), which will be left to the reader to describe.

(2) Let A,BA, B be two rings, EE a right AA-module, E′E' a left AA-module, FF a right BB-module and F′F' a left BB-module. The Z-bilinear\mathbf{Z}\text{-bilinear} mappings of (E⊗AE′)×(F⊗BF′)(E \otimes_A E') \times (F \otimes_B F') into a Z-module\mathbf{Z}\text{-module} GG are then in one-to-one correspondence with the Z-multilinear\mathbf{Z}\text{-multilinear} mappings ff of E×E′×F×F′E \times E' \times F \times F' into GG satisfying the conditions

{f(xλ,x′,y,y′)=f(x,λx′,y,y′)f(x,x′,yμ,y′)=f(x,x′,y,μy′) \begin{cases} f(x \lambda, x', y, y') = f(x, \lambda x', y, y') \\ f(x, x', y \mu, y') = f(x, x', y, \mu y') \end{cases}

for λ∈A,μ∈B,x∈E,x′∈E′,y∈F,y′∈F′\lambda \in A, \mu \in B, x \in E, x' \in E', y \in F, y' \in F'. The general constructions given in this no. reduce the proof of this to defining a canonical Z-module\mathbf{Z}\text{-module} isomorphism between (E⊗AE′)⊗Z(F⊗BF′)(E \otimes_A E') \otimes_{\mathbf{Z}} (F \otimes_B F') and E⊗AE′⊗ZF⊗BF′E \otimes_A E' \otimes_{\mathbf{Z}} F \otimes_B F', which follows from the associativity property of tensor products of the form (33).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
