Algebra, chapter II, § 10. Matrices

If M(x)M(x) and M′(x)M'(x) are the matrices with one column of the same element x∈Ex \in E with respect to the bases (ei)(e_i) and (ei′)(e'_i) respectively, then

M(x)=P.M′(x). M(x) = P . M'(x).

This is a special case of Proposition 6, applied to the mapping θx:a↦xa\theta_x : a \mapsto xa of AdA_d to EE (no. 4, Remark 1).

Formula (35) is equivalent to

xi=∑j=1naijxj′(1≤i≤n) x_i = \sum_{j=1}^n a_{ij} x'_j \quad (1 \leq i \leq n)

for the elements xix_i and xi′x'_i of the matrices M(x)M(x) and M′(x)M'(x) respectively. Formulae (36 D) are called formulae of change of coordinates. Observe that they express the components of xx relative to the "old" basis (ei)(e_i) as functions of the components of xx relative to the "new" basis (ei′)(e'_i) and the elements of PP, that is the components of the "new" basis relative to the "old" basis.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
