Algebra, chapter IV, § 6. Symmetric functions

— Let f∈A[X]f \in A[X] be a monic polynomial; for every polynomial g∈A[X]g \in A[X] the following conditions are equivalent: (i) res⁡(f,g)\operatorname{res}(f, g) is invertible in AA; (ii) there exist polynomials u,vu, v in A[X]A[X] such that uf+vg=1uf + vg = 1; (iii) g(x)g(x) is invertible in the algebra A[X]/(f)A[X]/(f). The equivalence of (i) and (iii) follows from Prop. 3 of III, p. 545 and Prop. 7; that of (ii) and (iii) follows trivially.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
