Algebra, chapter V, § 11. Abelian extensions

\* Let us take K=QK = \mathbf{Q} and n=2n = 2. Then Q∗/Q∗2\mathbf{Q}^*/\mathbf{Q}^{*2} is a vector F2\mathbf{F}_2-space having as a basis the union of {−1}\{-1\} and the set of all prime numbers. The largest abelian extension of exponent 2 of Q contained in C\mathbf{C} is thus the subfield Q(i,2,3,5,…)\mathbf{Q}(i, \sqrt{2}, \sqrt{3}, \sqrt{5}, \ldots) of C\mathbf{C}. Its Galois group consists of all the automorphisms obtained by multiplying each of the elements i, 2, 3, 5i,\ \sqrt{2},\ \sqrt{3},\ \sqrt{5} etc. by ±1\pm 1. \*

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
