Algebra, chapter V, § 11. Abelian extensions

Let L be a cyclic extension of K of degree nn; then the group (Ln∩K∗)/K∗n(L^n \cap K^*)/K^{*n} is cyclic of order nn. If a∈K∗a \in K^* is such that the residue class of aa mod K∗nK^{*n} is a generator of this group, then L is K-isomorphic to K[X]/(Xn−a)K[X]/(X^n - a) and the group Gal(L/K)\mathrm{Gal}(L/K) consists of the nn automorphisms mapping XX to ζX\zeta X, ζ∈μn(K)\zeta \in \mu_n(K).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
