Algebra, VII, p. 7, § 2. Torsion modules over a principal ideal domain

Let M and N be two A-modules, with components (Mi)(M_i) and (Ni)(N_i). Let u∈HomA(M,N)u \in \mathrm{Hom}_A(M, N) be an A-linear map from M to N; then for all i and for all m∈Mim \in M_i we have u(m)∈Niu(m) \in N_i, so u induces an AiA_i-linear map ui∈HomAi(Mi,Ni)u_i \in \mathrm{Hom}_{A_i}(M_i, N_i). It is easy to check that the map u↦(ui)u \mapsto (u_i) is an isomorphism of Z-modules (resp. of A-modules when A is commutative)

HomA(M,N)→∏i∈IHomAi(Mi,Ni). \mathrm{Hom}_A(M, N) \to \prod_{i \in I} \mathrm{Hom}_{A_i}(M_i, N_i).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
