Topological Vector Spaces, II, p. 36, § 5. Separation of convex sets
If we apply theorem 1 to the case where carries the finest locally convex topology (II, p. 25, Example 2), and if, for the sake of simplicity, we suppose that , then we get the following result (that superficially does not involve topology) : if is an absorbent convex set in the real vector space and if is a non-empty linear variety that does not meet , then there exists a hyperplane containing and such that lies on one side of . This result is not valid for every convex set (II, p. 65, exerc. 5).
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
