Topological Vector Spaces, chapter III, § 1. Bornology in a topological vector space

Let EE be a locally convex space. The set of bounded subsets of EE is an adapted bornology.

We need to establish the following properties : a) If BB is a bounded subset of EE, every subset of BB is bounded. b) The union of two bounded subsets is bounded. c) Every set that is homothetic to a bounded set is bounded. d) The closed convex balanced envelope (II, p. 13) of a bounded subset is bounded. If pp is a continuous semi-norm on EE, the balls of pp are convex, balanced, closed and the set homothetic to a ball is a ball. Hence, if pp is bounded on two subsets XX and YY of EE, it is also bounded on the closed convex balanced envelope of X∪YX \cup Y, and on the sets homothetic to these. This establishes properties b),c)b), c) and d), and a) is obvious.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
