Functions of a Real Variable, chapter II, § 3. DERIVATIVES AND INTEGRALS OF FUNCTIONS DEPENDING ON A PARAMETER

Let I be an arbitrary interval in R\mathbf{R}, and ff a continuous function on I×VI \times V. Suppose that: 1. the partial derivative fα′(x,α)f'_\alpha(x, \alpha) exists for all x∈Ix \in I and all α∈V\alpha \in V, and, for all α∈V\alpha \in V, the map x↦fα′(x,α)x \mapsto f'_\alpha(x, \alpha) is regulated on I; 2. for all α∈V\alpha \in V, fα′(x,β)f'_\alpha(x, \beta) converges uniformly to fα′(x,α)f'_\alpha(x, \alpha) on every compact interval contained in I, as β\beta tends to α\alpha; 3. the integral ∫Ifα′(t,α) dt\int_I f'_\alpha(t, \alpha) \, dt is uniformly convergent on VV; 4. the integral ∫If(t,α0) dt\int_I f(t, \alpha_0) \, dt is convergent.

In these circumstances the integral g(α)=∫If(t,α) dtg(\alpha) = \int_I f(t, \alpha) \, dt is uniformly convergent on VV, and the function gg admits at every point of VV a derivative given by the formula

g′(α)=∫Ifα′(t,α) dt. g'(\alpha) = \int_I f'_\alpha(t, \alpha) \, dt.

The uniform convergence of ∫Ifα′(t,α) dt\int_I f'_\alpha(t, \alpha) \, dt on VV means that the function α↦∫Jfα′(t,α) dt\alpha \mapsto \int_J f'_\alpha(t, \alpha) \, dt converges uniformly on VV with respect to the filter of sections Φ\Phi of the directed set K(I)\mathfrak{K}(I) of compact intervals JJ contained in I. Let us put uJ(α)=∫Jf(t,α) dtu_J(\alpha) = \int_J f(t, \alpha) \, dt; the hypotheses show that on the one hand uJ(α0)u_J(\alpha_0) has a limit with respect to Φ\Phi, and on the other hand, by virtue of prop. 5 of II, p. 74, that uJ′(α)=∫Jfα′(t,α) dtu'_J(\alpha) = \int_J f'_\alpha(t, \alpha) \, dt for all α∈V\alpha \in V. We can therefore apply th. 1 of II, p. 52 to the functions uJu_J, the rôle of the set of indices being taken here by K(I)\mathfrak{K}(I), and that of the filter on this set by the filter Φ\Phi; the proposition follows immediately.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
