Functions of a Real Variable, chapter V, § 1. COMPARISON OF FUNCTIONS ON A FILTERED SET

Given two functions f,gf, g of H(F,V)\mathscr{H}(\mathfrak{F}, V) we say that ff and gg are similar (along F\mathfrak{F}), and write f≃gf \simeq g, if f≼gf \preccurlyeq g and g≼fg \preccurlyeq f.

For every scalar λ≠0\lambda \neq 0 the relation f≃gf \simeq g is equivalent to f≃gλf \simeq g \lambda. It implies the existence of a set X∈FX \in \mathfrak{F} such that that the subset of XX of points where f(x)=0f(x) = 0 is identical with the subset of XX of points where g(x)=0g(x) = 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
