Functions of a Real Variable, chapter V, § 1. COMPARISON OF FUNCTIONS ON A FILTERED SET

The relation f−g≪ff - g \ll f is an equivalence relation on H(F,V)\mathscr{H}(\mathfrak{F}, V).

Indeed, if f−g≪ff - g \ll f and g−h≪gg - h \ll g then f−g≪gf - g \ll g, whence (V, p. 215, prop. 5) f−h≪gf - h \ll g, and consequently, since g⪯fg \preceq f, we have f−h≪ff - h \ll f, which shows that this relation is transitive; it is symmetric by prop. 7, and is clearly reflexive, whence the corollary.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
