Functions of a Real Variable, chapter V, § 1. COMPARISON OF FUNCTIONS ON A FILTERED SET

Let f(x,y)f(x, y) be a polynomial with real coefficients in two real variables x,yx, y, not having a constant term. If, as xx approaches 0 while remaining >0> 0, there is a function φ(x)\varphi(x), continuous on an interval [0,a][0, a], and such that φ(0)=0\varphi(0) = 0 and f(x,φ(x))=0f(x, \varphi(x)) = 0 for 0≤x≤a0 \leq x \leq a, one can show that there are a rational number rr and a real number λ≠0\lambda \neq 0 such that φ(x)∼λxr\varphi(x) \sim \lambda x^r (V, p. 259, exerc. 3).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
