Integration, chapter II, § 2. Linear forms on a Riesz space

— In order that two positive linear forms L,ML, M on a Riesz space EE be alien to each other in the space Ω\Omega, it is necessary and sufficient that, for every number ε>0\varepsilon > 0 and every x≥0x \geq 0 in EE, there exist two elements y≥0,z≥0y \geq 0, z \geq 0 of EE such that x=y+zx = y + z and L(y)+M(z)≤εL(y) + M(z) \leq \varepsilon.

Indeed, by the second formula of (3), this condition expresses that inf⁡(L,M)=0\inf(L, M) = 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
