Integration, chapter III, § 1. Measures on a locally compact space

Let XX be a paracompact, locally compact space; if EE is a quasi-complete locally convex space, then the space K(X;E)\mathscr{K}(X; E) is quasi-complete.

It suffices, by virtue of Proposition 2, (ii), to note that for every compact subset KK of XX, K(X,K;E)\mathscr{K}(X, K; E) is a closed subspace of C(K;E)C(K; E), which is quasi-complete since every bounded subset of C(K;E)C(K; E) consists of functions taking values in a same bounded subset of EE.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
