Integration, III, p. 26, § 2. Support of a measure

The support of the sum of two measures is contained in the union of their supports.

For, if the restrictions of two measures to an open set are zero, then the same is true of the restriction of their sum.

If μ\mu and ν\nu are two positive measures, then the support of λ=μ+ν\lambda = \mu + \nu is equal to the union of the supports of μ\mu and ν\nu; for, if x0x_0 is a point of the union and VV is any neighborhood of x0x_0, then there exists a continuous function f≥0f \geq 0 with support contained in VV and such that one of the numbers μ(f)\mu(f), ν(f)\nu(f) is >0> 0; a fortiori, λ(f)=μ(f)+ν(f)>0\lambda(f) = \mu(f) + \nu(f) > 0.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
