Integration, chapter III, § 4. Products of measures

Given two measures λ,μ\lambda, \mu defined, respectively, on two locally compact spaces X,YX, Y, the product measure of λ\lambda by μ\mu is defined to be the unique measure ν\nu on X×YX \times Y satisfying the relation (1) for every function g∈K(X;C)g \in \mathscr{K}(X; \mathbf{C}) and every function h∈K(Y;C)h \in \mathscr{K}(Y; \mathbf{C}).

In the proof of Th. 1, the roles of the spaces X and Y may be interchanged; canonically identifying Y×XY \times X and X×YX \times Y, we thus define on X×YX \times Y a measure

f↦∫dλ(x)∫f(x,y)dμ(y) f \mapsto \int d\lambda(x) \int f(x, y) d\mu(y)

that again satisfies condition (1). We have thus proved the following theorem:

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
