Integration, chapter V, § 5. Measures defined by numerical densities
— Let X be a locally compact space that is countable at infinity, and let be a -adequate mapping of T into .
Let be a positive numerical function defined on , locally integrable for the measure . The set of such that is not locally -integrable is then locally negligible for , the mapping (defined locally -almost everywhere) is -adequate, and
Let be an increasing sequence of compact subsets of whose interiors cover ; if is any positive measure on , to say that is locally -integrable is equivalent to saying that is -integrable for every . Now let be the set of such that is not -integrable, and let ; since is locally -negligible for all (§ 3, No. 3, Th. 1), the same is true of , which establishes the first assertion of the statement. Replacing by 0 for in (which does not change the measure ), we can suppose that is locally -integrable for every . For every -measurable positive function defined on , we have, by Prop. 3 and by Prop. 5 of § 3, No. 2,
This formula and Prop. 5 of § 3, No. 2 first show (on taking ) that the mapping is scalarly essentially -integrable, and that its integral is ; in other words, the relation (9) holds. Next, let us replace by a positive measure , and let us take for a positive lower semi-continuous function: it follows at once from these relations that is -adequate (§ 3, No. 1, Def. 1).
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
