Integration, V, p. 51, § 5. Measures defined by numerical densities
For every , set , where ; the mapping is linear, increasing and injective (Cor. 2 of Prop. 3), and its image in is the band B generated by (Cor. 2 of Th. 2). The mapping therefore permits identifying with a space of real measures on T; since all of the spaces are subspaces of , they too may be identified with subspaces of . Analogous considerations hold for complex-valued functions and measures. Note that the mapping considered above is an isomorphism of the ordered vector space structures of and B, but is obviously not an isomorphism for the topological vector space structures of these spaces.
Since every band in a fully lattice-ordered space is itself a fully lattice-ordered space (Ch. II, §1, No. 5), one sees that the space is fully lattice-ordered; but it is worthwhile to recall that the supremum in of an uncountable family of equivalence classes is not necessarily identical to the class of the upper envelope of the functions . However, we saw that for an increasing sequence of locally -integrable functions whose upper envelope is locally -integrable, is the supremum of the sequence of measures in (Cor. of Prop. 6).
Here is an interesting consequence of Corollary 3 of Th. 2:
Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
