Integration, chapter VII, § 1. Construction of a Haar measure

— Let α\alpha be a Haar measure on K+K^+. Then the measure β=(modK)−1⋅α\beta = (\mathrm{mod}_K)^{-1} \cdot \alpha on K∗K^* is a left Haar measure on the multiplicative group K∗K^*.

For, if b∈K∗b \in K^*, the mapping a↦b−1aa \mapsto b^{-1} a of K into K transforms α\alpha into (modKb)α(\mathrm{mod}_K b) \alpha, hence (modK)−1⋅α(\mathrm{mod}_K)^{-1} \cdot \alpha into itself, whence the proposition.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
