Integration, VIII, p. 43, § 4. Convolution of measures and functions

— Let L be a subset of G stable for multiplication and whose complement is locally negligible for a Haar measure β\beta. Then L=GL = G.

For, L−1L^{-1} and L∩L−1L \cap L^{-1} have locally β\beta-negligible complements. Now, L∩L−1L \cap L^{-1} is a subgroup, hence is open (Cor. 1) and therefore closed. Therefore G−(L∩L−1)G - (L \cap L^{-1}), which is open and locally β\beta-negligible, is empty. Thus G=L∩L−1G = L \cap L^{-1}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
