Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter I, § 5. Solvable Lie algebras

Let g be a solvable Lie algebra. The nilpotent radical of g is Dg\mathscr{D}g. If ρ\rho is a finite-dimensional simple representation of g, ρ(g)\rho(g) is commutative and the associative algebra L generated by 1 and ρ(g)\rho(g) is a field of finite degree over K.

Here r=gr = g, whence s=Dgs = \mathscr{D}g. Hence φ(Dg)={0}\varphi(\mathscr{D}g) = \{0\}, which shows that g′=ρ(g)g' = \rho(g) is commutative. Every element ≠0\neq 0 of LL is invertible by Schur’s Lemma; hence LL is a field.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
