Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter I, § 5. Solvable Lie algebras

(1) If (Mi)0≤i≤r(M_i)_{0 \leq i \leq r} is replaced by another Jordan-Hölder series of MM, the sequence (λ1,…,λr)(\lambda_1, \ldots, \lambda_r) is replaced by a sequence of the form (λπ(1),…,λπ(r))(\lambda_{\pi(1)}, \ldots, \lambda_{\pi(r)}), where π\pi is a permutation of {1,…,r}\{1, \ldots, r\}, as follows from the Jordan-Hölder Theorem.

(2) Let (e1,…,er)(e_1, \ldots, e_r) be a basis of MM such that ei∈Mi−1,ei∉Mie_i \in M_{i-1}, e_i \notin M_i (1≤i≤r1 \leq i \leq r). If x∈gx \in g the endomorphism of MM corresponding to xx is represented with respect to this basis by a triangular matrix whose diagonal coefficients are

λ1(x),…,λr(x). \lambda_1(x), \ldots, \lambda_r(x).

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
