Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 3. Passage from a Lie group to its Lie algebra

Let GG be a Lie group and π\pi an analytic linear representation of GG on a complete normable space EE. Then g↦tπ(g)−1g \mapsto {}^t\pi(g)^{-1} is an analytic linear representation ρ\rho of GG on the complete normable space L(E,K)\mathscr{L}(E, K)\footnote{As when K=RK = \mathbf{R} or C\mathbf{C}, the transpose tπ(g){}^t\pi(g) considered here is the restriction to L(E,K)\mathscr{L}(E, K) of the transpose of π(g)\pi(g) in the purely algebraic sense.} and L(ρ)a=−t(L(π)a)L(\rho)a = -{}^t(L(\pi)a) for all a∈L(G)a \in L(G).

This is a special case of Corollary 1.

ρ\rho is called the contragredient representation of π\pi.

When EE is finite-dimensional, L(ρ)L(\rho) is the dual representation of L(π)L(\pi) in the sense of Chapter I, § 3, no. 3.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
