Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 3. Passage from a Lie group to its Lie algebra

Let GG be a Lie group, MM a manifold of class CrC^r and ff a mapping of class CrC^r of MM into GG. The left (resp. right) differential of ff is the differential form of degree 1 on MM with values in L(G)L(G) which associates with every vector u∈Tm(M)u \in T_m(M) the element f(m)−1⋅(Tmf)(u)f(m)^{-1} \cdot (T_m f)(u) (resp. (Tmf)(u)⋅f(m)−1(T_m f)(u) \cdot f(m)^{-1}).

In this chapter we shall only consider the left differential, which we shall denote by f−1.dff^{-1}.df, and leave to the reader the task of translating the results for the right differential.

If ff is the identity mapping of GG, f−1.dff^{-1}.df is the canonical left differential form ω\omega of GG. Returning to the general case of Definition 8,

(f−1.df)m=ωf(m)∘Tm(f) (f^{-1}.df)_m = \omega_{f(m)} \circ T_m(f)

and hence f−1.df=f∗(ω)f^{-1}.df = f^*(\omega). This implies that f−1.dff^{-1}.df is of class Cr−1C^{r-1}.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
