Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 6. Real and complex Lie groups

Let E be a complete normable space over C\mathbf{C}, v∈L(E)v \in \mathscr{L}(E) and g=exp⁡vg = \exp v. Suppose that every z∈Sp vz \in \mathrm{Sp}\, v satisfies −π<J(z)<π-\pi < \mathscr{J}(z) < \pi. Then, for every closed vector subspace E′E' of EE, the conditions v(E′)⊂E′v(E') \subset E' and g(E′)=E′g(E') = E' are equivalent.

The condition v(E′)⊂E′v(E') \subset E' implies g(E′)⊂E′g(E') \subset E' and g−1(E′)⊂E′g^{-1}(E') \subset E' and hence g(E′)=E′g(E') = E'. Suppose that g(E′)=E′g(E') = E'. We use the notation Δ,Δ′\Delta, \Delta' of Proposition 17. Since Sp v\mathrm{Sp}\, v is a compact subset of Δ\Delta, there exists a compact rectangle Q=(a,b)×(a′,b′)Q = (a, b) \times (a', b') such that Sp v⊂Q⊂Δ\mathrm{Sp}\, v \subset Q \subset \Delta. The set Δ−Q\Delta - Q is connected. Hence Sp g⊂exp⁡Q⊂Δ′\mathrm{Sp}\, g \subset \exp Q \subset \Delta', the set exp⁡Q\exp Q is compact and the set Δ′−exp⁡Q\Delta' - \exp Q is connected. The closure of the latter contains ]−∞,0]]-\infty, 0] and hence

(Δ′−exp⁡Q)∪]−∞,0]=C−exp⁡Q (\Delta' - \exp Q) \cup ]-\infty, 0] = \mathbf{C} - \exp Q

is connected. Then exp⁡Q\exp Q is polynomially convex (Spectral Theories, Chapter I, § 3, Corollary 2 to Proposition 9) and hence the function log⁡\log, defined on Δ′\Delta', is a limit in O(exp⁡Q)\mathscr{O}(\exp Q) of polynomial functions (Spectral Theories, Chapter I, § 4, Proposition 3). Hence v=log⁡gv = \log g is the limit in L(E)\mathscr{L}(E) of elements of the form P(g)P(g), where PP is a polynomial (Spectral Theories, Chapter I, § 4, Theorem 3). As P(g)(E′)⊂E′P(g)(E') \subset E', it follows that v(E′)⊂E′v(E') \subset E'.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
