Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter III, § 9. Commutators, centralizers and normalizers in a Lie group

If G is Hausdorff, the following conditions are equivalent: (i) G is solvable (resp. nilpotent); (ii) DiG‾={e}\overline{D^iG} = \{e\} (resp. CiG‾={e}\overline{C^iG} = \{e\}) for sufficiently large ii. DiG⊂DiG‾,CiG⊂CiG‾D^iG \subset \overline{D^iG}, C^iG \subset \overline{C^iG} and hence (ii) ⇒\Rightarrow (i). {e}={e‾}\{e\} = \{\overline{e}\} and hence (i) ⇒\Rightarrow (ii) by Proposition 1.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
