Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter IV, § 1. Coxeter Groups

*For any subset XX of SS, the subgroup WXW_X of WW consists of the elements ww of WW such that Sw⊂XS_w \subset X.

If w=s1…sqw = s_1 \ldots s_q with s1,…,sqs_1, \ldots, s_q in SS, then w−1=sq…s1w^{-1} = s_q \ldots s_1; hence

Sw−1=Sw. S_{w^{-1}} = S_w.

Prop. 4 of no. 5 shows that Ssw′⊂{s}∪Sw′S_{sw'} \subset \{s\} \cup S_{w'} for s∈Ss \in S and w′∈Ww' \in W, which implies the formula

Sww′⊂Sw∪Sw′ S_{ww'} \subset S_w \cup S_{w'}

by induction on the length of ww. By (23) and (24), the set UU of w∈Ww \in W such that Sw⊂XS_w \subset X is a subgroup of WW; we have X⊂U⊂WXX \subset U \subset W_X, hence U=WXU = W_X.

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
