Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, chapter V, § 4. The geometric representation of a Coxeter group

The subgroup of GL(E)\mathbf{GL}(E) generated by σs\sigma_s and σs′\sigma_{s'} is a dihedral group of order 2m(s,s′)2m(s, s').

Since σs\sigma_s and σs′\sigma_{s'} are of order 2, and are distinct, it is enough to show that their product σsσs′\sigma_s \sigma_{s'} is of order m(s,s′)m(s, s'). When m(s,s′)m(s, s') is infinite, this follows from aa above. When m(s,s′)m(s, s') is finite, it follows from Prop. 1 that E is the direct sum of Es,s′E_{s,s'} and its orthogonal complement Vs,s′V_{s,s'}; since σs\sigma_s and σs′\sigma_{s'} are the identity on Vs,s′V_{s,s'}, and since the restriction of σsσs′\sigma_s \sigma_{s'} to Es,s′E_{s,s'} is of order m(s,s′)m(s, s') by bb, the order of σsσs′\sigma_s \sigma_{s'} is indeed equal to m(s,s′)m(s, s').

Bourbaki puts the proof directly after the statement, so what is above is the statement and its proof together.
